Take Dad back in time on a trip to the Needles Battery. From Palmerston follies to the race for space, there’s plenty for fans of military history and science to find out about. And after exploring the Battery, why not enjoy a slice of cake together in our 1940s tea-rooms?

If your dad loves relaxing in the garden, then take him to Mottistone Gardens this Father’s Day. Search together amongst the colourful flowers and shrubs for the flowerpot people and then treat him to a light lunch or slice of cake in the peaceful tea garden. If you’ve forgotten to get him a present, you can even pick up a last minute one in our shop.

For active dads, head out across the downs on a long walk. Why not make a day of it? Take a picnic with you, and enjoy some spectacular views as you tuck in to your sandwiches.

Even though he may be older than 11 3/4, get Dad to have a go at ticking off some of his 50 things. See who can climb the biggest hill or skim a stone the furthest. Or jump over waves and make a sand sculpture on the beach.
