The Leas is the finishing stretch of the world-famous Great North Run and gives you inspiring views of Souter Lighthouse and the North East coast.

Walking is not only good for our physical health, but it helps to clear the mind too. We've got some guided walks coming up all offering something a little different. Some will take you to Housesteads Roman Fort, over to Cawfields and further afield. You'll learn about the history, the land and the wildlife.

Book onto the Night Run

A Night Run is a fantastic way to experience this grand estate when darkness falls. Gibside's is on Saturday 3 February and there are two routes to choose from: the 2km Explorer route ideal for walkers and young family members, or for a longer challenge, the Adventurer is a 6km route.
