Conservation and Engagement Assistant, Polesden Lacey

Katarina Robinson - Conservation and Engagement Assistant

My time at Polesden Lacey started in March 2015, after having volunteered at three other National Trust properties. I began life at Polesden as a conservation assistant and then became conservation and engagement assistant.

My role is so varied and allows me to get involved in everything from preventive conservation and volunteer management, to interpreting our collections and helping to plan, implement and deliver our year-round offers.
I studied History of Art at York University for my undergraduate degree and then at the Courtauld Institute of Art for my postgraduate degree.  The wonderful breadth and depth of the fine and decorative arts at Polesden Lacey, as well as its interiors and architecture, amply feed my art historian’s imagination!
Spare time for me means playing instruments or team sports, sewing, painting or visiting exhibitions and houses!
