Wimpole History Festival 2018
In June 2018 Wimpole's History Festival is a weekend of history and heritage for the whole family, tickets now on sale for 2018 talks, don't miss out.
Wimpole's History Festival is the product of a unique partnership between Cambridge Literary Festival and the National Trust.
Set in the beautiful Wimpole Estate with its country mansion, rolling parkland and library of more than 10,000 books, this is the perfect backdrop to welcome some of Britain’s best and most engaging historians.
What is it
Wimpole History Festival is full of things to see and do from meeting a Roman soldier to going to Sword School and learning how hit the target with a bow and arrow; dress up as your favourite historical character and enter our competition!
With pop up street food stalls and craft stalls set up in Church field you can chill out before catching a talk from some of the best historical authors in the land.
Look to the skies for a Battle of Britian Memorial fly past with a Dakota on both days and a Spitfire providing a final flourish on Sunday.
Take a walk to the Folly and see the Scything Festival, (sorry no Poldark) with rural crafts also on show, watch craftsmen and work and learn about wildflower meadow management.
With debates, book signings and performances, plus events that take you to the heart of the National Trust, the invaluable work it does and its hidden treasures you can't fail to be amused for the weekend.
Normal admission applies, with additional tickets required for author talks and debates.
