What's new in London?

22 Parkside, the pioneering Wimbledon home designed by Richard and Su Rogers, has been gifted to the nation and will now be cared for by the National Trust. One of Richard Rogers's most influential yet lesser known works, the house played a pivotal role in the development of ideas that would shape modern architecture. Renowned for his high-tech architectural style, Rogers used the building as a testing ground for concepts that later informed world famous landmarks including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Lloyd's Building in London.

Go behind the scenes and follow our teams at work. Discover more about some of our treasured objects. Ham House’s 17th century Dolphin chairs are given the full conservation treatment at the Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio at Knole. Whilst at 2 Willow Road, a kinetic artwork by Argentinian artist Hugo Demarco is given a new lease of life (pictured). Plus, a newly acquired letter at The Carlyles' House reveals a surprising connection to Charlotte Bronte.

New Sense and Sensibility film shot at Rainham Hall

Rainham Hall is the latest National Trust place to get the big screen treatment, starring in Sense and Sensibility, only in cinemas 25 September. To mark the film's release, Rainham Hall will host a small exhibition from 24 September - 19 December, exploring how the historic house was transformed for the screen, alongside a special display of costumes from the film.
