The 2019 Heritage Open Days festival takes place in September. Celebrating our diverse history, architecture and culture, there's lots of free events at our places in the Lake District.

Sizergh Castle

Sedgwick Gunpowder works guided walk, Mon 16, Weds 18, Fri 20 and Sat 21 Sept, 2pm

Join this guided walk to Sedgwick Gunpowder works on the Sizergh estate, and learn a few of their secrets... When you return to Sizergh, refuel with some seasonal treats in the contemporary café, open seven days a week from 10am.

Enjoy free entry to the intriguing medieval Courthouse on 21 and 22 September. Uncover the quirky historical features and children can try special activities put on for the Heritage Open weekend.
