Kitchen garden and cut flower volunteers

Become part of a friendly and dedicated team by volunteering in the gardening team. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the cut flower bed and/or the kitchen garden, as well as provide a memorable experience for our visitors. A great opportunity to get stuck into the outdoors and meet people from all walks of life.

Volunteer in Sir Winston Churchill's painting Studio, an incredibly personal space filled with his beautiful paintings. You will be responsible for the Studio while it's open, giving talks as scheduled. You'll work alongside other volunteers to greet visitors and provide information and activities to enhance every visitor’s experience

Garden tour guides

Garden Tour Guides have an important role to play in delivering inspiring and enjoyable tours, helping groups and individuals learn more about the place they are visiting and providing a warm welcome to all visitors to Chartwell. You'll meet visitors from all over the world on these tours as you show them Churchill's beloved golden orfe ponds, Clementine's cherished rose garden and so much more.

Minibus drivers

Do something great by volunteering as one of our minibus drivers. Minibus drivers are one of our most vital roles, enabling those with access requirements to visit Churchill's home. Maintenance volunteer

Variety is the theme of the day when you volunteer in the maintenance team. You could be involved in a large number of tasks, from weeding to audit checks, and litter picking to general repair work. Maintenance volunteers help us to keep Chartwell running smoothly and looking its best and are a vital part of the team. If you have experience in carpentry, plumbing or painting and decorating, then we would love to hear from you.

Administration volunteer

Prefer to be indoors? Got great organising skills? Then you may suit being an admin volunteer. You'll help maintain administration by updating compliance records, keeping task spreadsheets up to date and assisting in the production of generic literature. Experience with Word, Excel, Publisher would be an advantage but we are happy to help you develop your computer skills.
