Christmas Guided tour of the House at Chartwell
Join an expert volunteer guide on a special Christmas tour of selected rooms in the house. Explore Sir Winston Churchill's journey as an artist while immersing yourself in the beautifully festive interiors inspired by his passion for painting.
- Booking essential
- Admission applies
Running Monday to Friday on selected dates throughout the Christmas season, these special guided tours offer a unique opportunity to experience Chartwell before the house opens for general admission.
To ensure a more personal experience, guided tours are limited to just 12 people per session. The guided tours begin before the house opens to visitors on timed-entry, self-guided visits.
Led by one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides, you'll explore selected rooms of the house, beautifully decorated for Christmas, inspired this year by Sir Winston Churchill's love of painting.
From the time Churchill first picked up a paintbrush through his journey to becoming an accomplished artist, experience Churchill's Colourful Christmas at Chartwell and see the paintings that inspired our Christmas theme.
As you move through the festively decorated rooms, your guide will share stories of Churchill as a painter, combining the magic of Christmas with the story of a pastime that became one of his greatest passions. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and learn more about Churchill's life at Chartwell.
Please note that, on arrival at the Chartwell Visitor Centre, you will need to purchase a Garden and Studio ticket in addition to your tour ticket. This allows access to the gardens and studio following your tour. Children under 5 do not require a ticket.
