The Rose Garden in June at Polesden Lacey
One of the highlights of any visit to Polesden Lacey is the stunning rose garden, and June is the month it really comes into its own. Throughout June, the rambling roses that adorn the rustic pergola come into bloom for the only time this year.

- Free event (admission applies)
Sheltered in this walled garden, the shrub and bush roses will also be in full flush, lighting up the beds with colour, and filling the air with scent. These varieties, diligently dead headed through the year by our team of gardeners, will flower repeatedly through the summer and into autumn, providing interest and colour right into November.

What is Gift Aid?
Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points. Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission or
- Standard admission
If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you the Gift Aid Admission prices. But it's entirely up to you which ticket you choose. If you want the Standard Admission instead, just let us know when you come to pay.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid* — an extra 25 per cent — potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below: Payment of the additional percentage donation is entirely voluntary, so if you prefer to pay the standard admission please advise our reception staff at the till point.
|Amount paid by visitor||£11.00||£10.00|
|Tax refund from Government*||£2.75||£0.00|
|Total received by the National Trust||£13.75||£10.00|
*Gift Aid donations must be supported by a valid Gift Aid declaration and a Gift Aid declaration can only cover donations made by an individual for him/herself or for him/herself and members of his/her family.
We now charge a single entry price for House and Garden admission. National Trust members and under 5s go free.
£1 restaurant voucher if arriving by public transport (present valid ticket at visitor reception).
Parking for non-members: £2 up to and including 2 hours, £5 all day.

- The rose garden was transformed during Margaret Greville's time from a vegetable garden into a sheltered haven filled with many varieties of her favourite flower, the rose. This was a highlight of any visit for her esteemed guests and she is pictured here frequently, proudly showing off the roses to dukes, kings and maharajas. A poignant reminder of Maggie's love of roses is the Greville Rose, specially bred for the National Trust by Peter Beales rose growers and also coming into bloom in June. This exclusive variety is planted just outside the walled rose garden, in front of the Edwardian socialite' grave, and is available to buy from the Polesden Lacey garden shop. A huge amount of work and investment has gone into restoring the rose garden in recent years, including renovating all the path and replanting many of the rambling roses on the pergola. There is no doubt Maggie would have been delighted by the enjoyment our visitors get from her beautiful rose garden today.
