This winter we are giving you the chance to go behind the scenes to see how our conservation cleaning team work their magic on the house and collections. See the house in its winter aspect, find out what nasties we have to battle to keep decay at bay, and learn some conservation tricks of the trade to help you keep your family treasures safe for future generations.

What is Gift Aid?
Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.
Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission
- Standard Admission
If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

To visit Mr Straw's House please do book in advance calling 01909 482380 to avoid disappointment. Admission is by pre-booked timed tours. Visits are also in small groups of 4 people only to help with the conservation work at the property. If you would like to book for more than 4 people please do call us.

- Wrap up warm, the house gets cold in winter. As there are many steps and stairs, please wear suitable footwear.
