A free 20 minute talk on weekdays about the Aviary and its work, presented by a member of the Aviary team. Learn about the exotic collection of rare and endangered birds at Waddesdon and the important conservation work of this registered zoo.

Restored in 2003, examine the intricate detailing of his 19th century Aviary. Join the birds up close at feeding time and meet out famous Rothschild Mynahs. Our expert aviary keepers will be on hand to answer questions.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points. Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission or
  • Standard admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you the Gift Aid Admission prices. But it's entirely up to you which ticket you choose. If you want the Standard Admission instead, just let us know when you come to pay.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid* — an extra 25 per cent — potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below: Payment of the additional percentage donation is entirely voluntary, so if you prefer to pay the standard admission please advise our reception staff at the till point.

*Gift Aid donations must be supported by a valid Gift Aid declaration and a Gift Aid declaration can only cover donations made by an individual for him/herself or for him/herself and members of his/her family.

Please note...

To visit the house a grounds ticket must be purchased.The house operates timed tickets, including for National Trust members, available in advance by phone tel: 01296 820414 (with £3 booking fee per transaction) or free online at waddesdon.org.uk.Tickets are limited and sell out on busy days especially weekends, school holidays, Bank Holidays and in December. FEAST WEEKEND: on 16 & 17 June there will be a Festival admission charge for National Trust members, adult £5, child, £2.50, family £10. AT CHRISTMAS from 10 Nov-1 Jan, there will be a charge for all visitors (including National Trust, Art Fund and RHS members) to see the festive decorated rooms in the house. The rest of the House is 'put to bed' for cleaning and conservation until 20 March 2019. Tickets for Christmas are by advance booking only at www.waddesdon.org.uk or call 01296 820414.
