We're hosting a family-friendly bike weekend on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June 2018, with crafts and activities for the little ones and 10 & 25 mile family bike rides. There's even a special Raleigh bike exhibition!

Please note that there is a charge for the family bike ride which needs to be booked in advance. Whether you're just looking for a fun day out or looking for a challenge you can tackle as a family, there's something for everyone. From staying here and exploring the Hall, Museum and Grounds - not to mention the crafts and activities on offer - to heading out on your bike to tackle either the 10 or 25 mile bike ride

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points. Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission or
  • Standard admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you the Gift Aid Admission prices. But it's entirely up to you which ticket you choose. If you want the Standard Admission instead, just let us know when you come to pay.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid* — an extra 25 per cent — potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below: Payment of the additional percentage donation is entirely voluntary, so if you prefer to pay the standard admission please advise our reception staff at the till point.

Meeting point
Rider registration will take place at the village cricket field opposite the hall. Family activities will be held on the gravel area at the front of the hall and in the Stableyard
What to bring and wear
Dress for the weather - families wishing to take part in the bike ride are required to bring their own bikes and relevant cycling safety equipment
Accessibility
Please be aware that the Hall has limited wheelchair access and that the terrain in the stableyard is uneven

Saturday 9 June - 11am - 5pm with Museum, Tea Rooms and Gift Shop also open and the Hall from 1pm. Rider registration for the ride on Saturday is 11am - 4pm. Cycling exhibition will be open from 9am. Sunday 10 June - Rider registration from 8am. 25 mile Family ride 9.30am, 10 mile Family ride 10am. Booking is required if you would like to take part in the bike ride, but not for other activities
