What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

Please note...

The basics

Suitability
This event is designed for the whole family!
Assistance dogs are welcome.
What to bring and wear
Sophie's kitchen, the video instalment and the art work will all be inside the house but the trail is in the Arboretum so make sure you dress for the weather and bring wellies if it's raining!
Accessibility
Sophie's kitchen is downstairs in the house, the art work and video instalment will be upstairs in the conservation room, we have an elevator but it cannot be used in a fire. The trail is accessible.
Other
Have tea with the tiger in the Morning Room of Dyffryn House and head upstairs to see a video of Judith and view some of her illustrations. We've got dressing up and a pop-up shop, perfect for spending some pocket money! Then head outside to the Arboretum for our educational Tiger Trail. We're exploring Tiger's life in the wild and looking at conservation of the tiger population. Practice your roars and find the tigers hidden amongst the trees. We're bringing this beloved tale to life for the whole family to enjoy!
