White Cliffs appeal

The White Cliffs appeal has been successful in helping us secure 700,000 square metres of land immediately behind the clifftop - reaching our target of £1million in just three weeks. We were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the public which helped us secure the land.

Further donations will help us look after this special place and restore the clifftop habitat, preserve the existing historical Second World War features, and maintain access routes for visitors.

Huge thanks from the White Cliffs team

'We have been absolutely blown away by the public’s response to our appeal. Over 17,500 people have made donations in the last few weeks and thanks to their generosity, this wonderful landscape now belongs to the nation, for ever' said Virginia Portman, White Cliffs General Manager.

" My thanks to everyone who embraced the campaign to protect this national icon. The White Cliffs of Dover are a significant landmark and it is so encouraging to know that they will now be protected for future generations. "
