Walking your dog on Blakeney Point and Cley Beach

Blakeney Point Coastal walk, Blakeney, Norfolk
This walk follows Blakeney Point’s 4 mile-long (6.4km) shingle spit to the sand dunes, near the Lifeboat House.

Friary Hills
To the east of Blakeney village is a small area called Friary Hills. Part of an old Friary, the site is a mixture of grassland, trees and gorse, and overlooks the Blakeney Freshes. It is kept as a dog-free zone so is family friendly and perfect for a picnic.

Blakeney Freshes coastal wildlife walk, Blakeney, Norfolk
This walk through Blakeney Village and around Blakeney Freshes is fantastic for spotting wildlife, especially birds. Keep an eye out for them on the grazing marshes and reed beds. There are also excellent views to enjoy along the way as you stroll around Blakeney and Cley harbour. Easy, 3 miles. This walk is wheelchair accessible.

Blakeney Freshes and Friary Hills circular walk
This short circular walk takes in three different habitats and gives amazing elevated views of Blakeney National Nature Reserve. Great for families or those wanting a short stroll. Not suitable for dogs due to restrictions.

Morston Quay to Cockthorpe circular walk near Blakeney, Norfolk
Starting from the National Trust car park at Morston Quay, this 5.5 mile (8km) walk weaves its way away from the coast along the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail, through woodland adjacent to a babbling river to the village of Cockthorpe.

Blakeney Gramborough Hill walk, Norfolk
Stroll along heath land on top of the coastal ridge and journey back down to the beach. This 4.75 mile circular walk takes you through a variety of habitats and gives great elevated views of the coast.
