Half term family fun at Buckland Abbey
There's so much for all the family to enjoy this spring at Buckland Abbey. From crafts to trails, walks to dressing up, it's a great place for an adventure.
Out and About
If you are in the mood for walking out on the beautiful estate, why not visit the Higher Paddock Play Area? Located at the start of the red route, there's all sorts of great equipment to have a go on, including a zip wire which is popular with the grown up kids too! Dogs on leads are welcome on the walks.
Have you been on a penguin hunt yet? Disguised as members of Drake's crew, 12 penguins have hidden around the Abbey to avoid being made into tomorrow's dinner by the hungry seafarers. Pick up a free trail sheet from Visitor Welcome and see if you can spot them all. There's also an indoor 50 things trail too if you fancy an extra challenge, and a nature spotting trail if you're planning to head out on the estate.
Love getting creative? Why not join in with one of the craft workshops running in the schoolroom this spring? All of the activities will run from 11-4, and will be drop in sessions. Cash only please.
Time for a treat
The fun doesn't have to stop when you head home - the shop is full of great gifts, food and souvenirs for all ages, so why not treat yourself to a reminder of your visit? There are plenty of things to tickle your tastebuds in the restaurant too - how about a delicious cream tea or hot chocolate?
