Volunteering at Coleridge Cottage

Volunteer Ruth in Sara's Kitchen at Coleridge Cottage

'I started volunteering to support the National Trust because I enjoy helping others to get the best experience of visiting somewhere special.' - Sally, volunteer since 2011

The safety of our staff, volunteers, visitors and supporters is our top concern and in accordance with Government guidelines on social distancing, our houses, shops, cafes, gardens and parks are now closed, and from March 24 all of our car parks will close. However, many will be grateful for support when they reopen. If you are interested in volunteering, please keep checking for future opportunities.

Without volunteers, we would not be able to open our doors, which is why we are so lucky to have a fantastic group of people at Coleridge Cottage who spend their free time looking after this special place.

What can I do?

Volunteers help look after the cottage in a number of ways: bringing the story of Coleridge to life by talking to visitors, serving tea and delicious cake in our busy tearoom, selling books and gifts in the shop, telling tales on special tours, or even a bit of everything.

It's never too soon to start volunteering. More than ever we are looking for passionate and friendly people to help look after Coleridge Cottage and share its story with visitors.
