Croft Castle's second-hand bookshop

The interior of the second-hand bookshop at Croft Castle in Herefordshire

We’ve sadly taken the decision to close our parks and gardens, in addition to our houses, shops and cafés, to help restrict the spread of coronavirus. We know that people are likely to need space and fresh air in the coming weeks and months and we will do all we can to provide access wherever possible. Our countryside and coastal locations remain open with parking charges waived, but we encourage people to stay local and observe social distancing measures.

Coronavirus FAQs

Find answers to some of the coronavirus-related questions we’re hearing most in light of the current situation at our places, including concerns about visiting, membership and events.

Our bookshop is run by volunteers and relies entirely on donations of books and music from our supporters.

Every penny spent in the bookshop goes towards vital conservation projects at Croft, including the revival and restoration of Fishpool Valley, a landscape remodelled in the Picturesque style.
