Weekdays from 19 January to 13 February 2026, the castle will be open for two guided tours daily at 11.15am and 12.30pm only; spaces limited on a first come first served basis. At weekends, it will open as usual.

There are two toilet facilities with adaptations, which can be found adjacent to the tearoom, and within the castle. Toilet near the cafe - The dimensions of the cubicle are 154cm x 210cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space. Castle toilet - The dimensions of the cubicle are 237cm x 280cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150c

The first floor of the castle can only be accessed by a staircase. Parts of the parkland have uneven terrain, natural paths and steps.

Castellated 17th-century manor house and home to the Croft family for many centuries, including present day.

Colourful herbaceous borders, secret garden and walled garden, complete with small working vineyard, historic apple trees and glasshouse.
Parkland
1,500 acres of historic parkland, with woodland, farmland, picturesque Fishpool Valley, Iron Age hillfort and ancient trees.
Castle play area and natural play area
Castle play area for younger explorers opposite the tea-room. Natural play area in the parkland, complete with rope swings and balance beams.
Church
St Michael and All Angels church is opposite the castle and still used today as a parish church. Parts of the church date back to the 12th century.
Carpenter's tea-room
Light and airy tea-room serving snacks, sandwiches, cakes, pasties, ice creams and hot and cold drinks. Seating indoor and out. Dogs welcome in glazed area.
Second-hand bookshop
Bookshop in the stables, packed full of pre-loved fiction, non-fiction, DVDs and children's books.

Wildlife Detectives February half term trail
Track the clues left behind by Croft’s wildlife in this family trail. Dash between trees, jump over roots and peek under branches as you follow this playful garden trail. £3 per trail, includes a prize. Normal admission applies.

Spring weekend craft
Create a pressed flower bookmark to take home. Get ahead of the game and craft a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift or something special for someone you cherish during this self‑led activity in the glasshouse. The event runs on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March from 11am to 3pm. All materials provided (subject to stocks used on the day). Free event. Normal admission applies

Situated on the English-Welsh border, Croft is a quiet, ancient place steeped in British history and politics with a picturesque castle and medieval parkland re-fashioned during the 18th century.
Surrounded by 1,500 acres of woods, park and farmland. Take a way marked walk to discover an abundance of nature at this special place.
The two acre walled garden is a wildlife haven, attracting butterflies, bees, birds and insects. It is the perfect place to enjoy the changing seasons, with daffodils and blossom in spring, roses and wisteria in summer and apples in autumn.
