Carmarthenshire Bunkhouse at Dinefwr

Large open plan dining area at the Carmarthenshire Bunkhouse

The Bunkhouse at Dinefwr is one of the best-kept secrets in Carmarthenshire. Set in the magnificent Dinefwr estate in Llandeilo, it’s the ideal base for any large group to explore the county of Carmarthenshire and beyond.

The Carmarthenshire Bunkhouse is open-plan and situated in the inner courtyard of Newton House, it's the ideal getaway for groups or large family get-togethers.

Built in the 17th century, the Carmarthenshire Bunkhouse has lots of character with stone walls and wooden beams throughout. It has sleeping and bathroom facilities of up to 15 a large family kitchen and a lounge with a log fire.

You can barbecue on the large balcony that boasts spectacular views of the medieval deer park.

''We booked the Carmarthenshire Bunkhouse for a family gathering in the summer. We've stayed at bunkhouses before but never one as nice. It was more like a luxury countryside apartment than a bunkhouse and it's on the National Trust Dinefwr estate so there was lots for the kids to do during the day too.

We love the open plan kitchen/living area and the views from the balcony. Watching the deer outside was a real treat.

Would highly recommend, a must visit if you're in south Wales. Thank you!'
