  • Booking advisable

In England, our gardens, parks and countryside are open. The safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors from the nearby community remains our priority and we urge you to book your visits in advance and follow government guidance on travel.

To open safely, we’re limiting visitor numbers. To avoid disappointment, please book your visit in advance, especially at busier times such as weekends and bank holidays.

Please arrive within your 30-minute timeslot. You’re then welcome to stay until closing time.

The garden is a 15 minute walk from the car park. Please arrive at the gatehouse within your 30-minute timeslot.

Car park, countryside, playground and cycle trials open daily, dawn until dusk; no booking required.

Open for your visit this week: Garden open on a bookable system 10.30am - 5.30pm. Refreshments open daily 9.30am - 5pm (takeaway only). Toilets and cycle hire open. Gift shop and Plant centre re-open 12 April. Walk-ups accepted when we are not fully booked.

Currently closed: House.

Dogs on leads welcomed in the countryside but not in the garden.
