Ickworth's Wood Sale

Enjoy a unique opportunity to buy wood from the Ickworth Estate. We'll be selling a wide variety of both native and exotic species, such as Oak, Beech, Ash, Cyprus and Pine.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Ickworth’s wood sale will be open from 10am-4pm on the Friday and Saturday and visitors will have the chance to explore the wood available and pick up a something special for that home or garden project or local crafts business.

Throughout the year, and as part of our tree management plan, wood is felled and milled to sustain our biomass boiler, to make way through new growth, or due to disease or storm damage. We invite you to purchase some of this wood for your own homes, and to continue to support our conservation work at Ickworth.

Whilst access to view the wood sale is free, estate admission applies. Please check the website for more detail.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

Please note...

Free entry for National Trust members

Day visitors will require an admission ticket to access the Estate, giving you entry to all areas open on the day of your visit as per our opening times.

Some activities may incur an additional cost - please see our what's on page for more information on events and cyle hire held at Ickworth.
