House timed tickets run every 10 mins throughout the day, from 11:30 Mon-Fri and from 11am on weekends. Only 2 time slots can be pre-booked (different times on bank holidays) - please book these at least 24 hours in advance and arrive at least 30 mins early to exchange your e-ticket for a house ticket. Most tickets are available on the day from the visitor centre on a first come first serve basis. IMPORTANT: tickets booked online are non-refundable and non-transferable

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Please note...

Last entry into the house is at 3.50pm, with our Highlights tour (8 places max) at 4pm. Entry to house by timed ticket (every 10 mins; places limited), sold on a first come first served basis. Tickets can sell out on weekends and during holidays; we recommend arriving before midday. You can pre-book select times through our website if done at least 24hrs in advance here. Parking is £4 for non-members and free for members. *Christmas* From 4 November, the house will be closed for winter apart from 7&8, 14&15, 21&22 December when select rooms will be dressed for Christmas. Please see 'Whole property Christmas' prices for these three weekends only.

Meeting point
Go to the visitor centre to show your confirmation email at least 30 minutes before your booked time. This will be exchanged for a timed entry ticket for the house.

Accessibility
Three rooms of the house are accessible by manual wheelchairs. There is a virtual tour in the sitting room that has further information on the room upstairs and the collection.
Other
Tickets are available on the day on a first come first served basis. All visitors (members and non members) will need a ticket to visit the house. All tickets (booked in advance or purchased on the day) are timed entry. You will need to enter the house at a time that's within your time slot. Please be aware it's roughly a 5min walk to the house from the visitor welcome centre. Although entry is timed, we operate a free flow system around the house, so once you're inside feel free to take time to explore and enjoy the experience. The house visit tends to take one hour on average. All tickets include admission to our gardens. Gift aid prices- by paying an additional voluntary donation in addition to your ticket price, we are able to claim gift aid back on the full value of your ticket and donation. If you have a NT for Scotland or Touring pass membership please use the member option for online booking.IMPORTANT NOTICE: all tickets booked online are non-refundable.
