Storytime with Father Christmas

***Sold out*** Book your place for the long-awaited return of Father Christmas to Beningbrough’s Victorian laundry. Join a small group for stories, list checking and gifts.

***Sold out***The man in red is visiting once more to rest and recharge ahead of his busy night on Christmas Eve. He loves welcoming visitors and sharing stories of his adventures during his Beningbrough holiday.

Take a seat in the Victorian laundry for thirty-minutes to hear first-hand tales of travels and mishaps along the way. He’s such a generous man and has told us he’ll bring a few sacks of gifts for the children.

There will be time for each child to have a chat and if you’d like to, bring a letter to Father Christmas on the day. He loves to read what you’ve been up to and all the kind things you’ve done through the year.

The event is likely to sell out fast - book today to avoid disappointment.

Please note: Non-members will need to pay normal admission prices on arrival at Beningbrough.

During winter weekends, Beningbrough is open 10am – 3.30pm. Visitors with 3pm tickets, please be aware the site will close as your session ends. Make the most of your day out by visiting Beningbrough before you see Father Christmas.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

Please note...

You no longer need to book ahead to visit Beningbrough.

The hall and gallery are currently closed for ongoing conservation work.

Free entry for National Trust members and under fives.

Meeting point
Head to the laundry courtyard five minutes before the start of your timed session and show your booking confirmation. Please note the laundry courtyard is several minutes' walk from admissions.
What to bring and wear
Although indoors, the Victorian laundry is an unheated, historic stone building and can be very cold – we recommend wrapping up warmly for the experience.
