Calke Unlocked: a tour with a twist (age 14+), starting October

Museum tours not for you? Want to have a little fun with history instead? Introducing Calke Unlocked – an irreverent, behind-the-scenes house tour at Calke Abbey. Tours start in October, with more dates available throughout the year.

  • Booking essential

What's a Calke Unlocked tour like, you ask? It's high-energy, loads of fun, interactive and just a little bit naughty. Our unique tour leaders are experts in the obscure and collectors of hidden stories.

Together you’ll uncover behind-the-scenes snippets, share scandalous secrets and back stories, and explore the un-stately home.

Booking is essential to give you that VIP experience, and tours will be limited to 2 parties per tour. Please note this is fast-paced experience and involves lots of stairs, and you'll need to bring a smartphone to join in the fun.

Weds 20 Oct, 10am - FULLY BOOKED

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

Please note...

The admission fee to the Parkland and Gardens applies to all non-members, whether arriving by car, bike or on foot. This supports vital conservation work in the outdoors at Calke Abbey, so that we can protect this special place for everyone, for ever. There is no car parking charge.

Admission to the House is in addition to the Parkland and Gardens, and is available from the Ticket Office.
