Guided walk: Summer at Sizergh

The delights of Sizergh change with the seasons, so join our volunteers to discover summer on the estate.

You’ll see prehistoric sites at Sizergh Fell and Lane End Farm before strolling through Brigsteer Wood, the perfect place to see butterflies basking in the sun. Stop off at Park End bird hide and look out across the wetland to see what wildlife you can spot. Head upwards to enjoy stunning views across the Lyth Valley from Helsington Church before returning to Sizergh. There will be a picnic stop, so bring some sandwiches, or takeaway lunches are available from the café and remember to wear stout footwear. The walk is approximately 5-6 miles.

Please wear stout footwear and suitable clothing for the weather on the day (walking boots and waterproofs are always recommended!)
Accessibility
There are some uphill, uneven and potentially muddy paths.
