Pop-up Shakespeare 2022

Join us for some highly entertaining snippets from three of Shakespeare's most loved plays. Saturday 13 August and Saturday 20 August from 1.30pm and 3.00pm

The Cat's Grin Theatre company, in association with Polesden Lacey Shakespeare, return with their wonderfully creative and funny interpretations of scenes from Shakespeare's plays. Family-friendly and interactive, they will be performed at different places around the gardens, accompanied by strolling musicians, Perdix, playing authentic music on authentic instruments.

There are two cycles of performances. One starting at 1.30pm, the second at 3.00 pm.

Free to all visitors to Polesden Lacey. Normal admission rates apply.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

The gardens, estate, shop, and cafe at Polesden Lacey are open all year. 

*The house is closed on weekdays from 31st October - 28th February
