Nellie’s Arctic Adventure is a winter trail bringing to life the astonishing story of Nellie Soames, former owner at Sheffield Park and one of the first women to venture into the Arctic.

Visitors are invited to delve into the history of the remarkable Nellie Soames in Nellie’s Arctic Adventure.

Running from 22 Jan - 27 Feb, this winter wander around the garden tells a tale brimming with adventure and offers something of interest to all. Don't miss the great polar bear and an ice cave in which to immerse the senses in the shimmering lights and sounds Nellie described so vividly in her book, 'Polar Gleams'.

As well as delighting visitors of all ages, the sculptures along the trail carry an important message of sustainability and the preservation of places of natural beauty and historic interest for future generations.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:
