Twelfth Night at Scotney Castle
Part of the Scotney Summer Season of arts and music, Twelfth Night is very much a tale for our times, reflecting desire’s power to override conventions of class, religion and gender.
- Booking essential
Heartbreak Productions brings you an open-air production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night as you’ve never seen it before with Orsino, Olivia, Viola and the others thrown into a reality-TV show “Twelve Nights”. Several characters begin the play believing they want one thing, only to have love teach them they actually want something else. This outdoor production keeps close enough to the Bard to appeal to aficionados, but wraps up the themes of obsessive love and its subterfuges in a 'Love Island' meets 'Big Brother' package.
