What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

Please note...

To qualify for the group ticket price, the group must be pre-booked through the Cliveden Estate Office 3 weeks in advance. Travel to Cliveden by 'green transport' and receive a £1 voucher to spend in the National Trust shop or café. Mooring at Cliveden Reach is possible at suitable locations for more than ½ mile downstream from Cliveden boathouse. Mooring charges are set at £5 for members and £10 for non-members, per 24 hours. We have roaming River Custodians who will approach moored boats and request this fee. If you do not see a Custodian during your stay, please head up to the National Trust Information Kiosk for payment. As a conservation charity, these fees are vital funds needed to protect and maintain spaces such as the Cliveden Reach. Please note, if you would like to enjoy the gardens or woodlands on your visit, admission to the Cliveden Estate applies.  Under 5s go free to enter Cliveden National Trust.  Admission fees apply to non-members only.  National Trust members enter the estate free of charge.
