Christmas wreath walk at Saddlescombe

Create your own Christmas wreath with materials collected from the downs. Morning and afternoon sessions available.

Take a festive walk and collect your holly and ivy. Return to historic Saddlescombe farm to make your very own Christmas wreath in our cosy learning barn. Log burning stove, mulled apple juice, mince pies and roast chestnuts will all be included.

The basics

Children welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
Meeting point
Please park in the informal car park opposite Saddlescombe farm, near Devil's Dyke. Walk into the farm and follow signs.
What to bring and wear
Please wear stout shoes that can cope with mud and appropriate clothing.
The venue is accessible with accessible toilets. The walk includes steep slopes. However we can accommodate. Please contact to arrange.

Fun for all the family. Come along to Devil's Dyke anytime between 11am and 3pm to collect your quiz sheet and map. Find the plastic eggs around the Dyke to solve the clues. All participants receive a Cadbury chocolate.

Easter Egg Rolling Competition

Bring your own hand decorated hard boiled egg and try your luck at this Easter custom - the egg that gets furthest down the Dyke valley wins. We will also judge the Best Decorated Egg.

The Big Walk - Celebrating 125 years of the National Trust
