What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Please note...

Free access to the shops, cafés, RAF Oulton Museum, plant centre, second-hand bookshop and Loft Gallery exhibitions.  The wider estate and walks can be accessed by paying the car parking charge.  Under 5's are free of charge, the child price is for ages 5-17 years inclusive.  Fishing permits are available at the lakeside. 

Parking and entry is free for National Trust members. For non-members there is a fixed full day charge of £5 for all car parks (£10 for coaches and cars towing caravans/trailer tents), which goes towards the care, maintenance and conservation of the parkland and ensures that the parking areas are maintained.  The machine does not take notes, so please ensure you have £5 of coins with you.  However, if needed, visitors can pay for parking by notes or card at Estate Barn visitor reception.  There is no charge for blue badge holders in the allocated areas.
