May half term: Medieval mayhem with Fiery Jack

Celebrate a little May madness at the castle this half term with Fiery Jack and the medieval jester academy. Experience new and different activities throughout the week to entertain the fools in your family. Make sure you don't miss a trick:

Fiery Jack and friends will be holding court with a varied programme throughout the week:

Tuesday/Wednesday - Circus Fools School & Meet Dragonface at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm

Thursday/Friday - Circus Fools School & the Travelling Talesman at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm

Saturday - Games Emporium; Fiery Jack Show at 11.30am and 2.30pm & John of Arderne, historic surgeon at 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

Sunday - Games Emporium & Fiery Jack Show at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Child price applies for 5-17 year olds (inclusive). Family ticket admits two adults plus up to three children for the price of two adults plus one child. One adult family ticket admits one adult plus up to three children for the price of one adult plus one child. Visitors arriving by public transport are offered a discount voucher with admission to the castle. Voucher redeemable at the shop or tea-rooms.

Please be aware that there are steps, steep slopes and uneven paths in the castle. There is wheelchair access to the outer bailey only.
