What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Please note...

Whole property ticket includes entry to the house, Carriage Museum, garden and grounds.

Parking charge applies for non-members. £1 for 1 hour, £3 for 3 hours or £4 for all day.

Under 5s can visit for free.

The basics

Suitability
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
Meeting point
Collect and pay for your trail from reception for the outdoors and pick up a trail for the house when you go inside.
What to bring and wear
Wear suitable clothing for the outdoors and bring your own camera or borrow an adults to see Arlington through a lens.
Accessibility
The grounds have some hard standing paths but the further in to the wider estate, some paths may be uneven in places. House accessible via steps to the front or ramp to the rear.
Other
Please note the indoor and outdoor trails are separate. The trail in the house is free to use but doesn't have a prize at the end. A prize is available for the outdoor trail which is included in the trail price.
