Explore Gibside after sunset, looking for and learning about the bats that live within our historic buildings.

After dark Gibside becomes the playground of thousands of bats as they emerge to feed. Armed with bat detectors, join our resident bat experts for a unique opportunity to learn about Britain's only winged mammal. Tea and cake included.

Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
What to bring and wear
Bring a torch, wrap up warm and wear suitable walking shoes.
The bat walk will cover a range of terrains, some uneven and possibly muddy.
