A unique opportunity to experience traditional techniques in a contemporary context. Bringing together experienced professionals and craftspeople, who specialise in the conservation and restoration of traditional buildings.

Day One - Heritage Building Skills

Join traditional building specialists, scholars from the Society of the Protection of Ancient Buildings, and skilled professionals in heritage crafts for an insight in to the restoration, repair and conservation of historic buildings and traditional homes. Including practical demonstrations of skills in action.

Day Two - Decoration & Design

Featuring decoration and design skills, delve in to worlds of historic wallpaper and contemporary hand printed design, local vernacular building and traditional paint finishes, the art of the master plasterer, and the intricacies of a contemporary ceramic artist responding to Dinefwr's decorative ceilings. A day of demonstration and discussion.

Meeting point
Both days of the event will be held in the Dining Room of Newton House , if you head to the front of the house the team will greet you and prepare you for the day.

Whatever you're most comfortable in.
Accessibility
The Dining Room is on the ground floor of the house, with no steps for entry/exit.
Other
Tea, coffee and lunch will not be provided, but the cafe will be open.
