Dating back to medieval England, the Lord of Misrule tradition continues at Corfe Castle this Christmas. Join our very own mischief-maker as you journey through the castle ruins, learn about medieval traditions and join in with games, dances and entertainment to brighten the long cold winter.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Under 5s: free.
Child price applies for 5-17 year olds (inclusive). Family ticket admits two adults plus up to three children for the price of two adults plus one child. One adult family ticket admits one adult plus up to three children for the price of one adult plus one child. Visitors arriving by public transport are offered a discount voucher with admission to the castle. Voucher redeemable at the shop or tea-rooms.

Meeting point
Tours will start from the castle entrance at the following times: Daytime: 10:30, 11:30, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm. Winter Light evenings: 4:30 & 5:30pm.
What to bring and wear
If you'll be visiting after dusk please bring a torch for the walk from the car park and for your tour of the ruins. Dress weather appropriately in warm clothing and please wear sturdy footwear.
Accessibility
Please be aware that there are steps, steep slopes, and uneven paths in the castle. There is wheelchair access to the Outer Bailey only.
