An Introduction to Lino Printing
Enjoy a full day workshop at the Heritage Skills Centre in Coleshill, learning about the traditional craft of Lino cutting and printing.
- Booking essential
Learn how to design, cut and print your own original lino prints, using easy to cut lino. You will be guided through every stage of the process and by the end of the day you should have produced a number of prints to take home, as well as a block that you will be able to use again and again. We will look at the work of other artists and there will be plenty of information about how to continue printmaking at home with a minimum of outlay.
You will be working on A5 or A6 blocks and it would be helpful (but not essential) if you could bring some ideas in the form of sketches and photos to use as a starting point. You will also need an apron (or wear old clothes), some gloves if you don't want inky fingers and something to take your work home in. (A couple of pieces of card and an elastic band make a quick folder).
All materials and tools will be provided.
