- Free event
Looking for something fun and different to do this summer? Join a National Trust Ranger and volunteer for a nature discovery walk around Holt Forest. You will have a chance to meet some of the amazing creatures that call this area home while learning something new, maybe get a bit mucky and have lots of fun.
This event is aimed for children 3 years and older, however all are welcome. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times and the forest paths mean that this walk isn’t very accessible for prams / buggies. We advise if bringing younger children please use a baby / child carrier is used.
This event is part of the Festival of National Nature Reserves which is a celebration of people and nature, of National Nature Reserves past, present and future. The first National Nature Reserves in England were declared in 1952 and this year Natural England and partners are celebrating 70 years of NNRs, England's most important places for nature. This is part of a series of over 100 local events held from May to October which will be inviting people to discover nature in exciting ways. National Nature Reserves are essential for nature's recovery, and are at the heart of the developing nature recovery network in England.
