In contrast to Spencer's paintings that draw upon his personal experiences of War this exhibition which includes paintings, prints and mixed media art will focus on how art of different periods has presented the soldier as an ageless figure whose essential character can be traced back to the battlefields of ancient Greece.

There will be an opportunity to meet the artist who will be demonstrating his working methods on certain days.
