Join in fortnightly stories, crafts and outdoor activities with your mini adventurers, especially for children under 4.

Each session we've different activities themed around a story or species, from planting seeds like Mr McGregor, discovering bees like winnie the pooh or going on a bear hunt through the woods. Make sure you check out our Facebook page @NostellNT to see the next theme coming up and look out for special story sessions throughout the year in partnership with Wakefield Libraries. No booking needed, just drop in to the gardens, 10.30 - 11.30am.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Please note...

Peak ticket applies 2 March - 3 November, Wednesday - Sunday (plus Bank Holiday Mondays); and 7 - 22 December, Saturday and Sunday.

Off-peak ticket applies every day 1 January - 1 March, 4 November - 6 December and 23 - 31 December; also, Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) and Tuesdays 2 March - 3 November.

Parking is free for National Trust members. If you're not a member the following parking charges apply:

Between 2 March and 3 November:

£7 all day, £4 after 3pm, £2 after 5pm. Coaches £10.

Between 1 January - 1 March and 4 November - 31 December: £4

Access to the Parkland is free all year round.

The gardens entrance. Any variation on meeting location will be advertised on Facebook beforehand. Under 5s are free, adults will need a ticket, National Trust members free.
