Semblance: New artworks commissioned by Sutton House

A stunning exhibition of newly commissioned artworks created by Cherelle Sappleton exclusively for Sutton House.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

The artwork explores ideas relating to Afro-Caribbean diasporic identity and the house's radical history. Created using photographs donated by women of colour with a connection to Hackney, the artwork is heavily influenced by Cherelle's focus on surrealist aesthetics and pop culture, bringing a bold voice to issues of representation, agency and the materiality of photographic images.
