Guided estate walk: Holt Heath

Join our walk on the ancient Holt Heath, one of Dorset's largest areas of unspoilt lowland heathland. Distance: 6 miles. Time: approx. 3 hours

Holt Heath National Nature Reserve is one of the largest remaining areas of heathland in Dorset, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is visited and enjoyed by many throughout the year. It is also home to six species of Britain's reptiles as well as rare bird species.

Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
Meeting point
Meet at White Sheet car park (OS Explorer 118 & OL22 SU 048037) approximately 15 minutes before the start of the walk.
What to bring and wear
Please wear appropriate stout walking shoes and clothing for the weather conditions. We recommend bringing water and any food you may require. Holt Heath can be very wet and muddy at this time of year
Accessibility
The walk crosses various ground conditions and may be muddy. Walks open to National Trust members and non-members. Walk not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters and there may be stiles.
