Another chance to see the acclaimed exhibition 'We are Bess' which reveals a new side to Bess of Hardwick's story through the voices and experiences of modern day women.
From household names to local Derbyshire women, the portraits of 16 modern women, taken by award-winning photographer Rachel Adams, sit alongside the Tudor portraits in the Long Gallery.
An additional four women will join the original 16 'We are Bess' women.

What is Gift Aid?
Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.
Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission
- Standard Admission
If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Parking £5 per vehicle. Fishing day and seasonal tickets are available. A Joint Hall ticket is available includes entry to Hardwick Hall and Gardens as well as entry to Hardwick Old Hall (managed by English Heritage)
- Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
- Meeting point
- The exhibition is situated in Hardwick Hall itself, in the Long Gallery on the upper floor. An introductory film sets the scene on the landing part-way up to the exhibition.
- What to bring and wear
- No stilettoes please
- This exhibition is located on the upper floor of Hardwick Hall in the Long Gallery. There are a number of steps to climb to this floor.
