Belton to Bellmount Tower guided walk
This monthly, 5km guided walk will take you from Belton House, along the Eastern Avenue of lime and sweet chestnut trees, and up into Bellmount Tower.
- Booking essential
- Free event
We’re working with the Woodland Trust to link Londonthorpe Woods with Bellmount, the eastern part of Belton House Estate, through our Reconnecting Grantham project.
The tower was built in 1750 and is one of the highest points in the area. From the top you’ll be able to take in the view over Grantham and neighbouring counties. You’ll also learn about the history of the Eastern Avenue and the tower itself including its connection to Belton House.
No dogs are allowed on this walk. The route includes entering Belton's Deer Sanctuary, where the priority remains keeping the environment solely for the purpose of the deer and grazing sheep. Dogs are however welcome on most of our other walks with Reconnecting Grantham.
Free, but donations to support the management of our woodlands are welcome. We'll provide you with an e-ticket for this walk which will need to be presented at Belton House Visitor Reception.
