As part of National Lottery Open Week 2024, we offered free entry to many places in our care to National Lottery players. As a charity, we want to say thank you to National Lottery players who’ve made so much of our conservation work possible.

Open Week 2024 has now ended

Please check back here next year for information on National Lottery Open Week 2025.

Thank you to all of the National Lottery players

The National Lottery raises over £30 million for good causes every week. They're the largest cumulative funder of our work since 1994, providing around £150 million for around 180 of our projects to date, making a huge impact on our ambitions and funding vital work. Players have allowed us to care for historic buildings and objects, maintain rivers and coastline and look after wildlife-rich environments. We'd like to extend our thanks to every player that takes part in the National Lottery, and we look forward to welcoming you during Open Week 2025 at one of the places we look after.

Please visit the National Lottery website to find out more about Open Week.

Discover something new

There are plenty of adventures to be had at the places we look after. Discover a family-friendly castle at Croft Castle and Parkland in Herefordshire, the giant waterwheel and apprentice house at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire or an 18th-century formal garden at Erddig in Wrexham. Or perhaps visit dramatic natural structures at Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim or Capability Brown landscapes at Sheffield Park in East Sussex. Plus, if you’re a National Trust member and have purchased a National Lottery ticket, you can bring a friend with you for free and explore somewhere together.

Grants and funding

Every day we welcome thousands of visitors who share our passion for experiencing the great outdoors, marvelling at a masterpiece or nurturing our wildlife. To ensure that this is something future generations can enjoy requires significant funding. Since 1994, National Lottery funding has been supporting vital projects around the country.
