Join us for a Night Run

Runnners at night at Saltram, Devon

Night Run, organised in partnership with Cotswold Outdoor, is a national programme of after-dark trail running events at the places we look after. Running along moonlit trails through ancient parkland, woodland and gardens is an exciting way of keeping active during the autumn and winter.

Going on a Night Run is memorable for many reasons. You'll run past mysterious manor houses bathed in moonlight and follow tree-lined pathways through Georgian landscaped gardens. You might even catch a glimpse of an owl or a bat.

Night Run events are all about having fun, being social and exploring the places you love as darkness falls. It doesn't matter how fast you are as it's all about enjoying the countryside and getting some fresh air.

From October 2018 to March 2019, Night Runs will be taking place at a number of National Trust places.

Routes for little and long legs

Choose the Explorer route (1-3km) or the Adventurer route (6-9km). Both routes are totally traffic-free, mostly on paths and trails and are open to runners and walkers. If you're new to running or looking to go on a family adventure the Explorer route could be just the ticket. The Adventurer route will put you through your paces if you're a seasoned runner, but is also fun if you want to take your time. Don't forget to bring a head torch.
