11 March, 12pm–1.30pm and 2pm–3.30pm

Take in the spectacular views over Strangford Lough as you treat your mum to afternoon tea, accompanied by a glass of Prosecco and live music. Mount Stewart is hailed as one of the most unusual gardens cared for by the National Trust, so it’s well worth an explore. Anglo-Saxon Mother's Day at Sutton Hoo, Suffolk

10 & 11 March 2018, 10.30am–5pm

Although the Anglo-Saxons didn’t celebrate Mother’s Day as we know it now, there are still plenty of fascinating facts to discover about motherhood during this period in history. The burial mounds at Sutton Hoo provided a wealth of information when they were excavated by archaeologists in the 1930s. Treat your mum to a day of discovery and pick up a hand-tied flower posy in exchange for a donation towards Sutton Hoo’s Heritage Lottery-funded project to transform the experience of visiting this special site.
