The North Sussex Centre of the National Trust was formed in 1978 and draws its membership from Horsham, Crawley and surrounding areas.

The Centre’s main aim is to organise an annual programme of activities for the enjoyment of its members and in order to raise funds for local National Trust properties. It also provides opportunities for people to meet others with a similar interest in promoting and prospering the work of the National Trust.

Each month from September to April there is an illustrated afternoon talk at Wesley Hall, London Road, Horsham. Lectures begin at 2.30pm, with the exception of our AGM, which begins at 2.15pm, and is followed by the monthly lecture. There are refreshments intervals during the lectures and the audience may also buy items from our Sales Table of donated items.

During the year we organise events such as coach outings, a spring holiday, a summer cream tea, lunches, and a Bridge Drive. Members receive Spring, Summer and Winter Newsletters which set out all the details of forthcoming events and include the relevant booking forms. The Newsletters also include reports on events which have taken place.

Outings and holidays have coach boarding points in Horsham and Crawley. Transport can usually be provided in members’ cars for lunches and other events held outside Horsham and Crawley.

The annual membership fee is now £15 per member and includes entry to all lectures. Visitors pay £5.00 per lecture.
