Our response to Phase 2 route

Looking west across the park at Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire

Our consultation response to the preferred route of Phase 2 of the rail link, (which runs from Birmingham to Leeds and Manchester), provides an in-depth assessment of the impact at each Trust place affected and a commentary on some of the methodologies used by HS2 Ltd to assess impacts.

We have welcomed the opportunity to respond to the consultation on the route of Phase 2 of HS2. We are neither for nor against the principle of high speed rail, but do believe that should it be built, it should be to the highest possible standards. We are committed to engaging with HS2 Ltd in order to deliver the best possible outcomes in terms of mitigation for the impacts of the train line.

We've put together this report to assess the impact of HS2 on places that we look after and will continue to work on providing the best outcomes as this project moves forward.
